The therapeutic potential of PLX

Some striking examples of the therapeutic use involving the transplantation of autologous and allogeneic MSCs into patients, either through local delivery or system infusion, have been reported recently. These examples include a broad spectrum of indications, including cardiovascular repair, the treatment of lung fibrosis, spinal cord injury and other neurological insults and bone and cartilage repair. While most of these demonstrations have used autologous, marrow-derived MSCs, Pluristem’s placental-derived allogeneic, off-the-shelf PLX cells will soon begin clinical trials in humans.
